Grace Spear is a UK based Photographic artist who experiments with mixed media and found photographs. It’s about the relationship between the photograph and other medias, as a template for extended manipulation.

 

Spear’s current project uses archived images from found collections, repurposed with mixed medias, including embroidery and stitching transforming them from discarded images to newly purposed and beautifully delicate documents of time. It secures the work in it’s roots but to also encourages the viewer to engaged with the fabricated narrative being told through the embroidery.

 

In February 2025, Spear’s work was collectively exhibited at the Bournemouth Art’s Depot, where she showed the beginning of her work with embroidery. During Summer 2025, her work is to be exhibited in the Copeland Gallery in London.
